It can be a rewarding job and a useful way of getting experience in the classroom for those with teaching ambitions.
You would be working in a Secondary setting with children aged 12yrs - 18yrs
The main job of a teaching assistant is to provide support on a 1:1 basis or small group. The pupils you will be working with are looking for a role model and someone they can trust. .
Teaching Assistants DO:
* Teach grammar
* Manage behaviour
* Discuss and debating texts with pupils and answering questions
Teaching Assistants DON'T:
* Don't plan
* Don't need the subject knowledge - Beneficial
* Don't mark work
* Don't set homework
* Don't differentiate
This role can fit perfectly around other commitments. The hours will be normal school hours 9am - 3pm.
