Trainee Learning Support Assistant – Secondary School (Manchester Area)

Teaching Personnel is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join us as Trainee Learning Support Assistants in secondary schools across the Manchester area.

About the Role:

As a Trainee Learning Support Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in the classroom, supporting teachers and helping students achieve their full potential. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Classroom Support: Assisting teachers in delivering lessons and ensuring students stay engaged in their learning.
  • One-to-One and Group Work: Providing tailored support to students who need additional help, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Behavioral Support: Encouraging positive behavior and helping to manage classroom dynamics effectively.
  • Adaptation: Using creative and flexible approaches to meet the diverse needs of students, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
  • Pastoral Care: Building strong relationships with students, offering encouragement and helping to develop their confidence and self-esteem.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in education while receiving tailored training to support your development.

What We’re Looking For:

We welcome applicants from a variety of professional and personal backgrounds, including but not limited to:

  • Care or Support Work: Experience supporting individuals with varied needs, demonstrating patience and empathy.
  • Coaching or Youth Work: Roles where you’ve worked closely with young people, inspiring and motivating them to succeed.
  • Customer Service or Team Leadership: Transferable communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Volunteer or Personal Experience: Such as mentoring, community involvement, or supporting family members with learning or development needs.

No prior experience in schools is required—just a passion for helping students succeed and a willingness to learn.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
