Location: Sarisbury Green

School Type: Small School for 11-16 Year Old Boys with SEMH Needs
Rate of Pay: £13.75 per hour (Paid Weekly)
Start Date: As Soon as Possible

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a small, supportive school in Sarisbury Green. The school caters to boys aged 11-16 who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and pride themselves on offering a caring and nurturing environment.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with their academic and personal development, both in and out of the classroom. The school boasts fantastic computing and gaming facilities, and experience or an interest in these areas will be beneficial as part of the role though not at all essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students on a one-to-one or small group basis.

  • Assisting with class activities and providing individual learning support.

  • Helping to manage and support students' social and emotional needs.

  • Contributing to the development of students’ skills in computing and gaming.

  • Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and delivery.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH needs (although training will be provided).

  • Be passionate about supporting students to reach their full potential.

  • Have a good understanding of computing and gaming, with experience in these areas being advantageous.

  • Be patient, resilient, and able to adapt to different needs and situations.

  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements:

  • Applicants will be required to have or obtain an enhanced DBS on the update service.

  • Experience working in an educational setting or with SEMH students is desirable, but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
