Job description

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the team at a well-respected all-through (5-16) Special educational needs school in Southampton. This is an exciting opportunity to support the learning and development of students with a primary diagnosis of Autism and other learning difficulties in a positive and engaging environment. Previous experience working with special needs, children or vulnerable adults will be beneficial but not always essential. 

Position: Teaching Assistant
Location: Southampton
Hourly Pay: £13.75/ hour,  paid weekly

Full and part time roles available 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students in the classroom, assisting with their learning and development.

  • Assist teachers with lesson planning and preparation.

  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Offer individual or group support to students as needed.

  • Foster students’ academic and personal growth through encouragement and assistance.

Requirements:

  • A passion for education and working with young people.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with students effectively.

  • Patience, adaptability, and a dedication to creating a supportive learning atmosphere.

  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
