1:1 SEMH Teaching assistant

Contract: Full-time, Monday-Friday (8:45-15:30).

Start date: December 2024

Location: Poulton 

Pay Rate: £12.90-£13.50 per hour

Teaching Personnel are looking for an experienced Teaching assistant to support a pupil in a ‘GOOD’ Primary School in the FY6 area. This new opportunity will be working closely with a child with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH). The successful Teaching Assistant will work 1:1 with a KS2 child with SEMH needs, providing tailored supportand promoting growth academically and personally.

The school has a strong ethos of learning together in a nurturing environment and ensuring all children have equal access to the enriching curriculum. The TA must be able to recognise the entitlement every child has to the education that they deserve.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised support and manage SEMH needs effectively.
  • Be able to build a rapport with the child and ensure they are nurtured to feel safe in the environment.
  • Work alongside teachers and agencies with the development and implementation of EHCPs and provision maps.
  • Implement behaviour management techniques when necessary.
  • Undergo and utilise any specific training.

The minimum experience and qualifications required:

  • Level 2 or higher qualification.
  • Experience in a Primary setting.
  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs is preferred.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
