Job Advertisement: Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is pleased to present an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time role commences in March and runs until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of becoming permanent based on performance.

About the Role:
This role is ideal for individuals passionate about education and dedicated to supporting young people in their learning journey. You will work closely with teachers and students to ensure a positive and effective classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons, ensuring all students can access the curriculum.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, focusing on those who require additional help.
  • Foster a supportive and encouraging atmosphere to help students build confidence and achieve their potential.
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN) or additional learning needs, implementing tailored strategies to address their individual challenges.
  • Assist in behavior management, helping to create a positive and respectful classroom culture.
  • Collaborate with staff to assess and report on student progress, contributing to individualized learning plans.
  • Provide pastoral support, helping students navigate academic and personal challenges.
  • Participate in school activities and events, promoting a holistic learning experience.

  • Be adaptable, empathetic, and proactive in meeting the diverse needs of students.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Demonstrate patience and resilience, particularly when working with students facing challenges.
  • Prior experience in a school or youth setting is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
