Teaching Personnel is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time position starts in March and runs until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance.
About the Role:
This role is ideal for psychology graduates eager to gain hands-on experience in education, particularly if they have aspirations to work in teaching, educational psychology, or a related field. You will play a vital role in supporting students' academic and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with students across various year groups, offering targeted support to enhance their learning experiences.
- Assist in the classroom, supporting teachers with lesson delivery and engaging students in activities.
- Provide one-to-one and small group interventions for students who may require additional help, including those with special educational needs (SEN) or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
- Utilize your psychology background to implement strategies that support student well-being and resilience.
- Contribute to the development and execution of behavior management plans tailored to individual needs.
- Support the creation of an inclusive learning environment, fostering confidence and motivation among students.
- Collaborate with staff to monitor and report on student progress, sharing insights that inform personalized learning strategies.
- Participate in pastoral care initiatives to help address the holistic needs of students.
