Teaching Personnel are working closely with a specialist school in Swansea who are looking to appoint an experienced PMLD Teaching assistant to join their successful and friendly team.
The school caters for pupils aged 3-19 with complex physical and sensory impairments. It will be your role to support pupils to access a highly bespoke and tailored curriculum. You must have experience of supporting young people or adults with physical disabilities and/or additional needs. You will be comfortable providing personal care and ideally will possess a Moving and Handling certificate (although this training can be provided).
It is essential that you have knowledge and understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and the ability to differentiate and adapt learning resources to meet individual pupil needs. You will have a holistic and person centred approach and the flexibility to address and respond to social, emotional and personal needs.
You will have excellent communication skills and the desire to improve learning experiences for those with additional needs in a specialist setting.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
