Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Sports-Focused)
Location: Liverpool
Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Perm

Are you passionate about sports and making a difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs? We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team at a dedicated SEN school. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on helping children re-engage with learning through sports and creative physical activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Engagement: Use sports and physical activities as a tool to motivate and engage students with special educational needs, supporting them to enjoy learning and build confidence.
  • Support EHCP Goals: Work closely with students to support their individual goals, following their Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Relationship Building: Establish strong, trustworthy relationships with students to create a safe, nurturing learning environment.
  • Classroom Assistance: Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities, adapting lessons to meet the specific needs of each child.
  • Behavioural Support: Provide positive behaviour support and help students develop social skills in line with their personal development goals.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience with SEN: Previous experience working with children with special educational needs in a school setting.
  • Sports Enthusiast: A passion for sports and using physical activities to foster learning and growth.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Able to connect and communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Relationship-Building Skills: Proven ability to build meaningful and supportive relationships with children.
  • Team Player: Work collaboratively with the teaching team and contribute to a positive school environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
