Learning Support Assistant

They provide a nurturing and inclusive environment for students who have found mainstream education challenging. Role and Responsibilities:
As an LSA, you will play a crucial role in supporting our students and ensuring they thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-on-one and small group support to students in the classroom.
- Assisting in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- Encouraging student engagement and participation in lessons.
- Helping to identify and break down barriers to learning, offering tailored interventions and support.
- Collaborating with teachers and other staff members to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitoring and recording student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- Supporting students in developing social skills and building self-esteem.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience as an LSA or in a similar role is preferred.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people and improving their educational outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to remain patient, empathetic, and adaptable in challenging situations.
- A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving.
- Relevant qualifications in education or child development are desirable but not essential.
The ideal teaching assistant would be somebody who has experience working with children who have previously had difficulties within mainstream schools. It is important that you have a lot of patience and resilience and also have a genuine interest in working with students to help set great examples and guide and support them in any way they need in order for them to achieve to the best of their ability.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
