Job Title: Special Educational Support Worker – Aylesbury Area

Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire
Contract: Full-time, Term-time Only
Salary: £89-95

Are you passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and making a positive impact on their learning experiences? We are looking for a dedicated Special Educational Support Worker to join our caring and inclusive school community in the Aylesbury area.

As a Special Educational Support Worker, you will work alongside teachers and other staff members to support students with a range of special educational needs. Your role will be vital in helping students overcome challenges and succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs, both individually and in small groups.
  • Assist in the delivery of personalised learning plans, ensuring each student’s unique needs are met.
  • Help students with learning activities, promoting independence and encouraging positive behaviour.
  • Support students in overcoming barriers to learning, including communication, social interaction, and personal development.
  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents, helping to track achievement.
  • Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment where all students feel supported and valued.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A genuine desire to support children with special educational needs.
  • Previous experience working with children, particularly in a support or educational setting (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to the needs of individual students.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting students in the classroom.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, are desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
