The Role:

As an SEN Support Staff member, you will play a key role in providing one-to-one and group support for students with SEN, ensuring they have the opportunity to thrive in the classroom and beyond. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting teachers in the delivery of tailored lessons and activities for students with special educational needs.
  • Offering emotional, social, and behavioural support to ensure students are engaged and supported throughout the school day.
  • Providing personal care and assisting with daily routines where needed.
  • Building strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Supporting the development of students’ social skills, self-confidence, and independence.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for someone with the following qualities and experience:

  • Nurturing and Caring: You must have a genuine passion for helping students with SEN and possess a warm, empathetic nature.
  • Patient and Adaptable: Working with students with diverse needs requires patience and flexibility in your approach.
  • Experience in SEN (Preferred but NOT essential): While experience is valued, it’s not essential. We’re open to candidates with a genuine interest in developing their skills in this rewarding area of education.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: You should be able to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and families.
  • Team Player: You will be working alongside a dedicated team of professionals, so being able to collaborate effectively is key.
  • Safeguarding: You will require a clear understanding of safeguarding

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
