Job description

Job Title: SEN Tutor 1:1 Maths and English

Location: West Midlands, West Midlands, Birmingham

Salary: £25.00 - £30.00 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 tutoring in Maths and English to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Create individualised learning plans based on students' needs and abilities
  • Deliver engaging lessons to support students' academic progress and development
  • Assess students' learning progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure holistic support for students

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
  • Experience working with students with SEN, particularly in Maths and English
  • Strong understanding of SEN support strategies and best practises

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar tutoring role

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of the national curriculum for Maths and English
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organisational skills to plan and deliver effective tutoring sessions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specialist SEN qualification
  • Additional training in specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexia or dyscalculia

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
