Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION: SEN Tutor

Location:

West Midlands, Birmingham, United Kingdom

Job Duties:

  • Provide one-on-one tutoring to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Develop individualised learning plans based on students' needs and goals
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons to support students' academic progress
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other professionals involved in the students' education

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to tailor teaching methods to meet individual student needs

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching or tutoring students with Special Educational Needs

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of SEN regulations and best practises
  • Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Proficient in using technology to enhance learning

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs
  • Experience working in a SENCO role
  • Training in specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia or autism

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
