About the Role:

We are recruiting committed, compassionate, and flexible Support Staff and Teaching Assistants to join our welcoming primary school in Winchester. Our school supports children aged 4-11 with a range of learning difficulties and varying physical abilities, and we are looking for individuals who are eager to make a positive impact on the lives of our students and challenge themselves in a new, rewarding role.

Whether you are looking for a full-time or part-time role, we have multiple opportunities available. School experience is not essential, but experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly advantageous. If you are passionate about supporting students with a diverse range of needs and abilities, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to children with various learning difficulties and physical abilities, both in the classroom and during activities.
  • Assist in the delivery of tailored learning plans, ensuring that students receive the necessary support to reach their potential.
  • Support students with communication, physical tasks, and social interactions.
  • Help manage behaviour in the classroom and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and other support professionals to implement personalized strategies for student success.
  • Assist with the preparation and organization of resources and materials for lessons and activities.
  • Promote the well-being, independence, and personal development of each student.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is advantageous, but not essential.
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
  • A willingness to support students with varying physical abilities and learning needs.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • A DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
