SEN Teaching Assistant – Tameside

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a thriving secondary school in Tameside. This role involves working closely with students who require additional support, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and speech & language difficulties.

• Assisting in the classroom to ensure all students can engage with the lesson.

• Implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and working closely with teachers and the SENCO.

• Supporting students with their emotional, social, and academic development.

• Helping to create an inclusive, positive learning environment.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (in a school, youth work, or care setting).

• A patient, compassionate, and understanding approach to working with students.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

• A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Psychology degree) is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
