Intervention Maths Specialist – Tameside

Location: Tameside
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: £90 - £120 per day (dependent on experience)

We are looking for a dedicated Intervention Maths Specialist to join a secondary school in Tameside to provide targeted support for students who are struggling with their maths learning. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to make a significant difference in student progress by delivering intervention sessions aimed at improving students’ understanding and exam preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver intervention sessions: You will be responsible for designing and delivering tailored lessons for small groups or one-to-one tuition, focusing on areas of weakness and helping students build their confidence in maths.

  • Support in exam preparation: Provide additional support for students preparing for their GCSE exams, including exam technique and revision strategies.

  • Work with class teachers: Collaborate closely with subject teachers to identify specific learning gaps and create targeted support plans.

  • Monitor progress: Track and assess student progress to ensure that interventions are effective, making adjustments as necessary to improve outcomes.

  • Promote engagement and motivation: Ensure that all students are engaged in their learning, with differentiated activities that cater to varying ability levels and learning styles.

  • Create a positive learning environment: Encourage students to build their self-confidence and develop positive attitudes toward mathematics.

Requirements:

  • A strong subject knowledge in mathematics (a degree in Maths or a related field is preferred).

  • Experience working with secondary-age students in an intervention, tutoring, or teaching assistant role.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills to ensure students are well supported.

  • Ability to differentiate lessons to cater to students' individual learning needs.

  • A genuine passion for teaching and helping students achieve their potential.

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).

This role is ideal for an experienced maths educator or someone with a strong background in tutoring or intervention teaching. You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive school that prioritises student progress.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
