SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Preston.

Salary: £12.90+ per hour based on experience and additional duties. 

Hours: Full-time.

Contract: Temporary.

About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to work within our inclusive and supportive school environment. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support to children with a range of special educational needs, ensuring they feel valued and empowered to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting individual or small groups of students with special educational needs in their learning.
  • Assisting the classroom teacher with differentiated lesson plans to meet the needs of SEN pupils.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and social interaction for children with learning difficulties.
  • Monitoring and reporting student progress to teachers and SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators).
  • Helping to create a positive and safe learning environment where all students feel included.

About You:

  • Experience working with children, preferably within an SEN setting.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • A passion for supporting children with diverse needs and a commitment to their development.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
