Job description

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Liverpool

Start date: ASAP and September 2025 positions available

Contract type: Full time (long-term and short-term roles available)

Pay rate: £13 - £14.90

A secondary school in Liverpool are currently looking to recruit multiple candidates for the role of SEN Teaching Assistant. This Good Ofsted school works closely alongside parents, students and the community with the intention of achieving solid trusted relationships. They provide a caring and safe learning environment for children and young people with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities. Many of their students possess unique talents and abilities which the provision successfully promotes and nurtures.

Long-term roles available

  • Full-time positions (Monday-Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm)
  • Required to commit to the school on a long-term basis
  • Interested in securing a permanent role

Short-term roles available

  • Part-time and/or full-time positions (Varied/ ad-hoc days - 8.30am-1.00pm/ 12.00pm- 3.30pm/ 8.30am-3.30pm)
  • Would be covering emergency/ scheduled absences

Role requirements:

  • Experience of working with children and young people with SEN needs advantageous.
  • Will take a passionate and proactive approach to the role.
  • A creative and inspiring thinker.
  • Will be resilient, able to take initiative and work in a challenging but highly rewarding environment.
  • Comfortable with providing personal care.
  • Able to provide 1-1 support to individual pupils as well as small groups of pupils with SEN
  • Any relevant qualifications, e.g. L3 TA, SEN are admirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
