About the Role:

In this role, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
  • Support students both in and out of the classroom
  • Help create a calm, safe, and structured learning environment
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students and staff
  • Use de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies to support students through difficult moments

Who We're Looking For:

We’re looking for strong, reliable individuals who can dedicate their time and energy to supporting students through their educational journey. Candidates with a care background do especially well in this setting. Here's why:

Why a Care Background Works:

  • You understand the importance of consistent routines and clear boundaries
  • You’re experienced in working with individuals who require emotional support and tailored communication
  • You know how to handle challenging behaviours with sensitivity and professionalism
  • You bring transferable skills such as safeguarding knowledge, resilience, and trauma-informed practice
  • You understand that progress often takes time, and every small win matters

This role is ideal for care workers, support workers, youth workers, or anyone with experience supporting vulnerable individuals who want to transition into an educational setting.

What You’ll Need:

  • A background in care, youth work, or similar
  • A strong and resilient personality
  • Passion for working with young people who need extra support
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • A calm, nurturing, and non-judgemental approach
  • Previous experience working with challenging behaviour is desirable but not essential

What We Offer:

  • A rewarding opportunity to support young people and make a real impact
  • Ongoing support and training
  • A welcoming and supportive staff team
  • Long-term potential with opportunities for development within education
