Job Title: Full-Time Support Worker – Alternative Provision
Location: Liverpool
Hours: Full-Time (Monday to Friday)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

About the Role:
As a classroom Support Worker, you will play a key role in helping young people engage in education and personal development. You will work alongside teachers and other staff members to create a supportive, safe, and nurturing learning environment for students who may have experienced trauma, disrupted education, or present with behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students in the classroom.
- Help manage challenging behaviours in a calm and consistent manner.
- Implement trauma-informed strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement.
- Assist in the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources.
- Support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with students to support their personal and academic growth.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies.
Essential Qualities and Experience:
- Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly in an educational, care or youth work setting.
- Strong knowledge or training in behaviour management techniques.
- Understanding and application of trauma-informed practice.
- Resilience, patience, and a calm approach to difficult situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with students.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Flexible, proactive, and able to work as part of a dynamic team.
Desirable:
- Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, or mental health support.
- Experience in an alternative provision, PRU (Pupil Referral Unit), or similar setting.
- First Aid or Team Teach training.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
