Teaching Personnel is the UK's leading education recruitment agency supplying client schools with temporary and permanent educators throughout the academic year. As an agency we provide schools with a high level of service matching their specifications to the appropriate candidates from Teachers to Teaching Assistants through to Behaviour Support Assistants and Academic Tutors.

Within the Preston location we are currently looking for an energetic and friendly individual to join our ever-expanding team as a Recruitment Consultant. The successful applicant will be given a warm desk with a good client and candidate base. We are interviewing over the next couple of weeks and the successful applicant will commence employment as soon as possible. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

As a Recruitment Consultant at Teaching Personnel, you will be the vital link between our client schools and candidates. You will join a thriving team covering a specialist sector (Primary) and will be responsible for building your candidate pool and school base across a local area.

You will:

  • Make a high volume of sales and business development calls to schools across your local area in order to grow your business portfolio
  • Build and develop your own candidate database by sourcing and recruiting quality teachers and support staff and matching them to temporary and permanent job placements. You will use a range of networking platforms to advertise your positions and additionally gain recommendations from your current candidate pool.
  • Have regular face-to-face client meetings with Senior Leaders to build relationships with key decision makers in schools in order to successfully service your client schools
  • Work in an office directed through supportive management, key performance indicators and targets in line with your branch and career ladder expectations.

About You

Preferably you will be educated to degree level (although this is not essential) and have a passion for the education sector. The ideal candidate will also have excellent communication skills and an outgoing personality. Prior knowledge of the education sector would also be beneficial to the role.

You will be given opportunities to gain industry leading skills and experience. You will be pushed to explore your potential from day one by participating in our internal learning and development programme and receiving unrivalled support in branch. We have a specific career path for our Education Recruitment Consultants to progress. We review performance regularly and you may qualify for promotions up to 4 times per year.

Hours of Work

This role is offered on a full time, permanent basis (42.5 hours per week over 5 days per week). Standard working hours tend to be from 0730-1700 and 0830-1800 although this will be determined by business levels. Throughout the year you will also benefit from working reduced hours through holiday periods such as Christmas, Easter and Summer.

Salary and Benefits

In return for your efforts Teaching Personnel will offer a great package consisting of:

  • Annual salary starting from GBP20,000 plus GBP3000 commission OTE wit the potential to gain a promotion every quarter.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
