Job description

 

Are you looking for a fulfilling role where you can make a real impact on students’ lives? A small alternative provision in Blandford Forum is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Supply Worker to join their team, starting 22nd April 2025. This part-time position offers the chance to work one-to-one with students aged 11 to 16, supporting their learning and personal development in a nurturing and structured environment.

Blandford Forum is a welcoming market town with a strong sense of community and a commitment to inclusive education. Schools in the area prioritise personalised learning, ensuring that every student receives the tailored support they need to thrive both academically and emotionally. This specialist setting provides Alternative Provision for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), offering a supportive and therapeutic approach to learning.

 

The Role

This is a one-to-one support role, working closely with students to help them engage with learning and develop key life skills. You will:

  • Provide individualised support to students, ensuring they feel confident and motivated in their learning.

  • Create a structured and encouraging environment that promotes independence and self-esteem.

  • Support emotional well-being by using positive behaviour management strategies tailored to each student’s needs.

  • Assist in delivering pre-planned lessons and adapting activities to suit individual learning styles.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to provide a holistic and inclusive educational experience.

 

What We Are Looking For

We welcome applications from individuals who are patient, empathetic, and adaptable. Experience in education or supporting young people is beneficial, but the most important qualities are a positive attitude and a commitment to helping students succeed. Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with students are key.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
