Learning Support Assistant – KS2

The role:

The Headteacher and SENCO of a reputable Primary School in Preston are looking for a confident and dynamic Teaching Assistant to support small groups of pupils in Y5 providing academic learning support. This role will be five days per week Monday-Friday term time only working from 8:45-15:20 each day. This role is predominantly based within the classroom setting, however there may be opportunity to work alongside individual children on 1:1 basis within the school library. The role will be targeting and bridging gaps in learning for English and Maths in Key Stage 2.

This is a wonderful, oversubscribed school with an excellent reputation across Preston. Children are keen to learn, and this role will be working alongside lower and higher attaining pupils to close gaps in learning provided targeted support. The Headteacher is keen to provide tailored support and give each child the opportunity to succeed.

The ideal candidate:

Will have experience supporting children and have excellent knowledge of Maths and English. Capable following the teachers planned interventions and confident working alongside children working at varying capabilities. An excellent role model to young children and staff and genuinely passionate about accelerating progress within the classroom setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
