Learning Support Assistant opportunities across Winchester!
About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant. We have multiple roles across our partner schools in the area. The ideal candidate will be supporting students in Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6), helping to ensure their academic and personal development is maximized. This role will involve working closely with class teachers and other staff to provide tailored support to meet the diverse needs of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support individual and small group work in the classroom to assist with the curriculum.
- Provide tailored interventions to children with specific learning needs, under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
- Help to maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment.
- Encourage the development of students’ social, emotional, and behavioral skills.
- Support children with additional needs, including those with SEN, EAL, or those requiring additional emotional or behavioral support.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of differentiated learning materials.
- Monitor and report on students' progress and behavior.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) preferred.
- Previous experience in a primary school, ideally in Key Stage 2.
- Experience in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, empathetic approach to working with children.
- An understanding of the primary curriculum and how to adapt it to meet diverse learning needs.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
