Job description

TP Tutors are currently seeking experienced SEND (special educational needs and disability) tutors, in Halstead, to assist pupils in KS3. This will be in a 1:1 setting at the pupil’s home.

We work with pupils with SEND which can include a variety of needs. This can include Autism, Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. Therefore, you will need to have experience and feel confident tutoring for complex and challenging needs.

This role will require you to assess where you think the pupil currently is in their learning journey, plan and implement catch up programmes accordingly.

 

Summary of the role:

  • You will be working 1:1 with a SEND pupil in their home.
  • You will need to be confident working with a variety of SEND needs, potential needs are Autism, Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.
  • You will need to assess where the child is in their learning journey, and tailor a learning programme specific to their needs and academic goals.
  • As a tutor you will need to build a relationship with the student to help tailor your approach to cater for their additional needs.
  • You will need to track and log the pupils progress in our platform LEAP.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
