Job Title: English and Maths KS3 SEMH 1:1 Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Coggeshall

Job Type:

Temporary, Part-Time hours

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide 1:1 tutoring in English and Maths for Key Stage 3 students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Create individualised learning plans to meet the specific educational requirements of each student
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons to support academic growth and development
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding student performance and educational goals

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs
  • Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 3 English and Maths curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
  • Proven experience in teaching English and Maths at Key Stage 3 level
  • Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Up-to-date knowledge of SEN practises and strategies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Education or related field
  • Experience in working with students with SEMH needs in a 1:1 setting
  • Additional training in behaviour management and de-escalation techniques

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time hours, temporary position
  • Work closely with students in an educational setting
  • Collaborate with school staff and parents to support student progress
  • Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
