Job Title: SEN KS3 English and Maths Tutor

Location: East of England, Essex, Basildon

Job Type: Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £20 - £30 Per hour

Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored English and Maths tutoring to Key Stage 3 students with severe Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Create individualised lesson plans to meet the specific learning requirements of each student
  • Assess student progress, identify areas for improvement, and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Work closely with SEN coordinators and other professionals to support students' overall development
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate effectively with parents/guardians

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with students with severe SEN
  • Strong knowledge of the KS3 English and Maths curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience teaching English and Maths to students with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of different learning styles and ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly
  • Ability to create engaging and interactive learning experiences
  • Strong classroom management skills

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a learners home
  • Full-time hours, temporary position
  • Potential for some remote teaching depending on circumstances

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
