Job description

Job Title: SEN Specialist 1:1 Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Tilbury

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work full-time hours

£20 - £30 per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide 1:1 tutoring to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Create individualised learning plans based on students' needs
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other professionals involved in the student's education

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with students with SEN
  • Knowledge of SEN support strategies and interventions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Experience:

At least 2 years of experience in a similar role

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of the UK education system
  • Ability to create engaging and effective learning experiences
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs
  • Experience with specific SEN conditions such as Autism or Dyslexia

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily in a learners home setting
  • May require travel to different locations within the East of England

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
