About the Role: Do you have a passion for helping children master phonics and supporting those with special educational needs (SEN)?

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Phonics Support Teaching Assistant to join the KS1 team in a primary school in Thornton. This part-time role is ideal for someone with experience in a primary setting who is confident in providing tailored phonics support to pupils with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide phonics support to students in a classroom setting.
• ✏️ Assist the teacher in planning and delivering engaging phonics lessons.
• ‍ Work with individuals or small groups of students to improve reading and phonics skills.
• Monitor and assess students' progress in phonics.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to develop individualized learning plans.

Requirements:

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Previous experience working with children or young adults.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A calm and patient presence for supporting struggling children.
