History Graduate Cover Supervisor – Full-Time Role
Location: Levenshulme
Contract: Full-time, starting after Easter until the end of the academic year
Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week

Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic History Graduate to join a Good Ofsted-rated secondary school in Levenshulme as a Cover Supervisor. This role is ideal for graduates who are considering a career in education and are eager to gain valuable classroom experience.

The Role:

As a History Graduate Cover Supervisor, your primary responsibility will be to manage and deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the class teacher. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates looking to develop their skills in behaviour management, communication, and teaching practice.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising whole-class lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with a focus on history and other humanities subjects.
  • Delivering pre-planned lesson content, ensuring students engage with tasks and remain on track.
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Providing support to students during lessons, helping them understand historical concepts and assigned tasks.
  • Covering lessons in other subjects where required.
  • Reporting student engagement, progress, and any issues to the appropriate teaching staff.
  • Supporting intervention groups or revision sessions within the history department when required.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a History Graduate who:

  • Holds a degree in History or a related humanities subject.
  • Is passionate about education and working with young people.
  • Has strong communication skills and the confidence to manage a classroom effectively.
  • Can adapt to different subjects and year groups when needed.
  • Has previous experience working with young people in an educational, mentoring, or support capacity (desirable but not essential).
  • Is organised, proactive, and capable of working independently.
  • Understands safeguarding practices (training will be provided if necessary).
