Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Chorlton-cum-Hardy
Teaching Personnel is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Chorlton-cum-Hardy. This is a full-time position starting immediately and continuing until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance.
Role Overview
This position is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to gain valuable experience in education. Whether you are considering a career in teaching, educational psychology, or pastoral support, this role will provide hands-on experience in a dynamic school setting.
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and support staff to assist students across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring they have the guidance and encouragement needed to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:

Providing one-to-one and small group support to students who require additional assistance with their learning.

Assisting teachers in planning and delivering lessons, ensuring students remain engaged and supported.

Helping students develop their study skills, confidence, and subject knowledge across a range of subjects.

Supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) by adapting learning materials and providing targeted interventions.
-
Assisting with exam preparation, including revision sessions and practice assessments.
-
Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in lessons by implementing effective classroom management strategies.

Preparing lesson resources and materials to support learning.

Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers to tailor support accordingly.

Assisting in extra-curricular activities, enrichment programmes, and intervention sessions.
Candidate Requirements:

A degree in any subject (2:2 or above preferred).

A genuine interest in education, student development, and supporting young people.

Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
-
A patient, proactive, and adaptable approach to working with students of varying abilities.
-
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a school setting.
-
Previous experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, classroom support) is desirable but not essential.
Salary & Benefits:

Weekly pay between £446.90 - £500, depending on experience and responsibilities.
