  • Supporting students with GCSE English preparation, helping them develop analytical skills, essay-writing techniques, and exam strategies.

  • Helping to deliver engaging lessons that inspire a love of literature and language.

  • Working with students who may require additional support in literacy, including those with English as an Additional Language (EAL) or Special Educational Needs (SEN).

  • Assisting teachers in planning and preparing lesson resources, adapting materials to suit individual student needs.

  • Encouraging students to develop critical thinking and communication skills through discussions, debates, and structured activities.

  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers, ensuring tailored support is given where necessary.

  • Helping to maintain a positive and structured learning environment, encouraging students to engage with texts and develop their appreciation of English literature.

  • Offering pastoral support, acting as a mentor for students who may need extra guidance.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A degree in English, Literature, or a related subject.

  • A strong understanding of the secondary school English curriculum.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • A passion for education and literacy, with a desire to support students in achieving their full potential.

  • A patient and supportive approach to working with students of varying abilities.

  • Some experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, voluntary work) is desirable but not essential.

  • The ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SEN specialists, and support staff.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Weekly pay between £446.90 - £500, depending on experience and responsibilities.

  • An opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience, ideal for those considering a future career in teaching or educational support.

  • The potential for a permanent role within the school.

  • Access to training and professional development through Teaching Personnel.
