English Teacher – Inspire and Elevate Student Achievement

  • Delivering high-quality English lessons: Teach engaging and comprehensive lessons across KS3 and KS4, covering literature, language, and writing skills that build a strong foundation for future academic success.
  • Fostering critical thinking and literacy skills: Encourage analytical discussions, critical reading, and effective writing practices to help students excel in their coursework and exams.
  • Preparing students for GCSE success: Provide structured guidance and revision support for GCSE English Language and Literature exams, ensuring students achieve their best potential.
  • Enriching student learning through extracurriculars: Lead or support English-related clubs or enrichment activities, such as creative writing groups, debate clubs, or drama societies, adding depth to the student experience.
  • Collaborating with a dedicated English Department: Work alongside a team of passionate educators committed to sharing resources, best practices, and innovative ideas for continued curriculum development.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English: Demonstrated experience delivering English curriculum in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of English literature and language: Ability to make complex literary texts and language structures accessible and engaging.
  • Excellent classroom management: Skilled at maintaining a positive and focused learning environment.
  • A passion for student development: Committed to encouraging confidence, resilience, and curiosity in each student.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
