English Teacher – Inspire Future Writers and Thinkers

About the Role:

In this English teaching position, you will play a pivotal role in helping students explore the richness of literature and develop essential skills in reading, writing, and critical analysis. Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage and Inspire: Teach English to KS3 and KS4 students, covering a diverse curriculum of classic and contemporary literature, poetry, and non-fiction texts.
  • Skill Development: Focus on building core literacy skills, guiding students to enhance their comprehension, analytical, and writing abilities.
  • Exam Preparation: Prepare students for their GCSE English Language and Literature exams, using creative approaches that build both skill and confidence.
  • Classroom Environment: Establish a stimulating, inclusive classroom where students feel empowered to voice their interpretations, opinions, and insights.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with fellow teachers to continually evolve the curriculum, sharing resources, ideas, and strategies that enrich the learning experience.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English, with proven experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 levels.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for English literature and language, with a creative teaching style that engages students of varying abilities.
  • Strong classroom management skills and a collaborative approach to lesson planning and department initiatives.
  • Effective communicator, adept at fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and motivated.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
