Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Teaching: Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons that engage students, fostering a deep understanding of literature, language, and writing skills.
  • Student Engagement: Inspire a love of literature and language, promoting critical thinking and developing students’ ability to analyse, discuss, and express themselves.
  • Assessment and Progress Tracking: Regularly assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to ensure students meet their academic targets.
  • Behaviour Management: Maintain a positive learning environment by enforcing school behaviour policies, ensuring a focused and respectful classroom atmosphere.
  • Collaboration and Professional Development: Work closely with the English Department and take part in school-wide CPD sessions to continually enhance your teaching practice and subject expertise.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Qualifications: A degree in English or a related subject, with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Skills: Strong classroom management, excellent subject knowledge, and the ability to engage and motivate students in English.
  • Personal Qualities: Passionate about English, with the ability to inspire and encourage students to develop a love for language and literature.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
