Education Support Worker – Newton Abbot

Location: Newton Abbot
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:45 AM – 4:45 PM
Salary: £90 - £100 a day
Contract: Permanent, full-time

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? We are looking for a dedicated Education Support Worker to join our expanding team, supporting children and young people aged 7-16 with additional learning needs.

This role will be primarily based at our secondary site in Newton Abbot, but you will also work across both sites and in the community on outreach. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.

The Role:

As an Education Support Worker, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students, encouraging engagement in learning and helping them achieve their personalised targets.
  • Plan and deliver parts of learning or intervention programmes tailored to individual needs.
  • Support students academically, socially, and emotionally, contributing to their overall well-being and development.
  • Deliver intervention sessions both on-site and in the community, helping students overcome barriers to learning.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a professional team to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with additional learning needs.
  • A commitment to positive behaviour management and supporting students in overcoming challenges.
  • An interest in holistic and individualised learning approaches.
  • A good general standard of education, including GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for travel between sites and outreach work.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
