Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay: £90 - £100
Contract: Long-term, with temp-to-perm opportunities at the school's discretion

Are you passionate about outdoor learning and supporting children with additional needs? We are looking for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a unique Outdoor School in South Brent, where education is rooted in nature and hands-on experiences. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves working outdoors and wants to make a real difference in a child's learning journey.

The Role:

As an Outdoor Learning 1:1 TA, you will:

• Provide tailored, 1:1 support to a student with additional needs, helping them engage with outdoor-based learning activities.
• Work closely with teachers and SEN specialists to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
• Support the student in hands-on, nature-based activities such as forest school sessions, gardening, and outdoor exploration.
• Encourage social, emotional, and academic development in an alternative learning environment.
• Help manage behaviour positively using de-escalation techniques and structured support.
• Promote independence, confidence, and resilience in learning through outdoor experiences.
• Assist with personal care and mobility support if required.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with children with SEN in a school, care, or community setting.
• A passion for outdoor learning and an understanding of its benefits for child development.
• A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to supporting individual needs.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a supportive team.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to think creatively in an outdoor learning environment.
• A good level of physical fitness, as the role involves working in an active, outdoor setting.

Desirable (but not essential) Skills:

• Forest School training or experience in outdoor education.
• Understanding of Autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs.
• Experience with behaviour management strategies such as Team Teach or MAPA.
