Support Staff Member - Cover Supervisor and Teaching Assistant Support

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and versatile Support Staff Member to join one of our partner secondary schools in Stockport. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the school community by providing essential cover supervisor and teaching assistant support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cover Supervisor Duties:
• Manage classrooms during teacher absences, ensuring a positive learning environment.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans, maintaining order and discipline in accordance with the school’s policies.
• Engage and support students with their learning activities.
• Teaching Assistant Support:
• Assist teachers in preparing lesson materials and classroom resources.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, especially those with additional needs.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
• Help with administrative tasks, marking, and record-keeping as required.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or Teaching Assistant in a secondary school is highly desirable.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
• A flexible, proactive approach and the ability to adapt to varying educational needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant qualifications or willingness to undertake training in support roles.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
