An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join the permanent staff team of a highly respected Multi-Academy Trust in Southampton, Hampshire. Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage classes during the absence of the usual teacher, ensuring students remain on task and follow classroom rules.
• Provide support to students in their learning by reinforcing instructions, assisting with activities, and offering guidance where necessary.
• Maintain a positive and effective learning environment by managing classroom behavior and fostering student engagement.
• Liaise with teaching staff and school leadership to ensure a smooth transition for both students and staff.
• Report back to relevant staff on student progress, behavior, and any incidents during cover sessions.
• Ensure that all safeguarding and health and safety protocols are followed at all times.

Requirements:

• A minimum of GCSE level education, including English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
• Previous experience working with students in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in challenging situations.
• Knowledge and understanding of classroom management techniques and student behavior.
• A commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of students.
• A proactive approach and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
