Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join the team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of learning for their students by covering lessons during teacher absences. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals considering a career in education or those looking to gain experience in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise students in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure that students remain on task with their work.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and procedures.
  • Provide feedback to the regular teacher about the covered lessons, including any issues or successes.
  • Support students with their learning and provide assistance where necessary.
  • Uphold the school’s values and ethos in all interactions with students, staff, and parents.

Person Specification

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a classroom and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to respond to the varying needs of the school.
  • Enthusiastic about working with young people and contributing to their education.
  • Previous experience in an educational setting or working with young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
