About the Role
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Computing Teacher to join a highly regarded secondary school in Stockport. This is a full-time position starting in September to cover a long-term absence. The school has a strong reputation for academic excellence and is committed to providing an engaging and forward-thinking curriculum that prepares students for the digital world.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Computing lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, equipping students with essential skills in programming, digital literacy, and computational thinking.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging Computing lessons that inspire and challenge students.

Teach a range of topics, including programming (Python, Java, or similar), algorithms, networking, cyber security, and digital media.

Develop students' problem-solving and critical-thinking skills through hands-on learning and project-based work.

Assess, monitor, and provide feedback on student progress to ensure continuous development.

Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

Promote the safe and responsible use of technology, in line with school policies.

Encourage students to explore careers in technology and participate in extracurricular activities, such as coding clubs or STEM initiatives.

Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Computing curriculum and share best practices.

Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.

Experience teaching Computing at Key Stages 3 and 4.

Strong subject knowledge, particularly in programming and emerging technologies.

Ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

A passion for technology and innovation in education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
