Job description

Are you passionate about technology, coding, and empowering the next generation of digital thinkers? We’re seeking Computer Science Tutors in Barnet who can bring subjects like programming, algorithms, and computer systems to life for students across KS3, GCSE, and A-Level. 


Why Your Role Matters

Many students face barriers in their learning — from dyslexia and ADHD to Autism, SEMH needs, or a lack of confidence in technical subjects. As a Computer Science Tutor, your role is essential in helping learners:
• Understand and apply complex computing concepts in a clear, accessible way
• Build confidence in areas like coding, systems architecture, and computational thinking
• Prepare effectively for coursework, exams, and assessments
• Develop long-term digital skills that go beyond the classroom
• Learn in a safe, engaging, and structured environment that suits their needs


Your Responsibilities

Plan and deliver tailored Computer Science lessons, adapting to different learning styles
• Track and report on attendance, engagement, and academic progress via our platform
• Liaise regularly with TP Tutors, parents/carers, and school professionals
• Maintain a strong focus on safeguarding and student well-being
• Provide both remote and face-to-face tutoring, depending on student location and needs


What We’re Looking For

✅ Strong subject knowledge in Computer Science (KS3, GCSE, A-Level)
✅ Confident teaching or tutoring topics like Python, Java, algorithms, data representation, and networks
QTS, PGCE, or equivalent experience in teaching/tutoring Computer Science
✅ Prior experience with school-aged learners (11–18 years)
✅ Awareness of or experience supporting learners with SEN and SEMH needs
✅ Ability to manage challenging behaviour and keep students motivated
✅ Passionate, tech-savvy, and enthusiastic about education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
