Role and Responsibilities: As a Behavioural Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with behavioural and emotional challenges. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Implementing trauma-informed practices to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Providing one-on-one and group support to students, helping them manage their behaviour and emotions.
- Developing and maintaining trustworthy relationships with students to build rapport and trust.
- Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to create and implement effective support plans.
- Using positive behaviour management strategies to help students overcome daily challenges.
- Encouraging and guiding students to achieve their educational and personal goals.
- Monitoring and recording student progress and adjusting support plans as needed.
Requirements: The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Knowledge and experience in trauma-informed practice and managing behavioural challenges.
- A genuine interest in supporting children who have struggled in mainstream schools.
- Exceptional empathy, resilience, and patience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build trustworthy bonds with students and manage difficult situations effectively.
- A proactive and positive attitude towards problem-solving and teamwork.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
