Behaviour Support Assistant

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of various teaching methods and strategies to effectively engage and support students with diverse needs. This role will involve working closely with the class teacher, pastoral team and other support staff to create a positive learning environment for all students.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the class teacher in managing the behavior of students with emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties
• Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior support plans (BSPs) for students with challenging behavior.
• Develop and deliver targeted interventions to address specific behavioral issues
• Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating in school activities
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior
• Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a collaborative approach to supporting students

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Knowledge of behavior management strategies and techniques, including positive behavior support, de-escalation, and conflict resolution
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
3. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
