Tameside Secondary Schools – Behaviour Mentor
Position Title: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Various Secondary Schools in Tameside
Start Date: Immediate / As Required
Daily Rate: £89 – £100
Overview
This role is designed for professionals passionate about supporting students with behavioural challenges. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with teachers, SEN teams, and pastoral staff to help pupils develop positive strategies to manage their emotions and behaviours. You will be integral to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities

Intervention & Support: Deliver 1:1 and small group sessions tailored to help students regulate their behaviour and emotions.

Behaviour Plan Implementation: Assist in creating and executing individualised behaviour support plans alongside school leadership and SEN teams.

Classroom Integration: Monitor and support pupils during lessons, ensuring a smooth reintegration following any incidents or interventions.

Data & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of behavioural interventions and progress, and communicate effectively with teaching staff during handovers and debrief sessions.

Crisis Management: Apply de-escalation techniques during challenging situations and liaise with school pastoral staff and external agencies where needed.
Qualifications & Experience

Proven experience in a similar support role within an educational setting or equivalent.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond to challenging behaviours using evidence-based strategies.

Knowledge of safeguarding practices and current educational policies.

Relevant certifications or training in behavioural support is an advantage.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
