We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ASD Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching working with pupil with ASD. This role involves supporting students with a variety of needs, including personal care, behaviour management, and facilitating learning in both individual and group settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils with ASD, promoting their educational, social, and emotional development.
• Assist with personal care, including feeding, toileting, and nappy changing.
• Support students with challenging and disruptive behaviour, using strategies to de-escalate situations and promote positive behaviours.
• Help to create and implement tailored learning plans and ensure they are followed.
• Assist with maintaining a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for students.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, ensuring they feel valued, respected, and included in all activities.
• Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to monitor student progress and contribute to planning meetings.

Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a school or care setting.
• Confidence and ability to manage challenging and disruptive behaviours.
• Experience in providing personal care, including feeding and nappy changing, for children with additional needs.
• A positive, patient, and empathetic attitude with a proactive approach to supporting students.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents.
• Relevant qualifications in special educational needs (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) are desirable.
