Job Title: Experienced ALN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role
Location: Ammanford
Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday)
Salary: £83.85 daily rate ( subject to change in April)

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on ALN Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic and supportive team in a full-time capacity. Key Responsibilities:
- Student Support: Provide direct, one-on-one and small group support to students with additional learning needs, ensuring their individual needs are met both inside and outside the classroom.
- Personal Care: Assist with personal care tasks as required, ensuring the dignity and comfort of the students at all times.
- Collaborate with Teachers: Work closely with class teachers to implement tailored teaching strategies and assist in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
- Learning Adaptations: Support the adaptation of teaching materials to suit the needs of individual students and help them fully engage in lessons.
- Positive Behaviour: Support students in managing their behaviour, encouraging positive engagement and participation through motivational techniques and structured routines.
- Emotional Support: Be a trusted adult for students, providing encouragement, empathy, and understanding to support their emotional well-being.
- Team Contribution: Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each student. Participate in regular team meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Inclusive Environment: Assist in fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every child feels valued, heard, and empowered to succeed.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: Experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in an ALN or SEN setting, or a role involving care or support work for individuals with additional needs. Can be professional or personal.
- Confidence & Initiative: A confident individual who takes the initiative, is proactive in offering support, and is comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
- Hands-On Approach: A ‘get stuck in’ attitude—whether it’s supporting students in the classroom, assisting with personal care, or contributing to school-wide initiatives.
- Ability to Travel: Must be able to travel up to 25- 30 minutes to the school each day.
- Flexibility & Adaptability: Ability to adapt to different students' needs, including handling changes to the timetable, learning activities, and support strategies.
- Empathy & Patience: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build trust with students, colleagues, and parents. A patient and understanding approach when working with children with additional learning needs.
- Personal Care Competence: Comfortable and capable of assisting with personal care needs, ensuring students feel safe and supported.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of specific learning disabilities (e.g., Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia) and how to support students with these conditions.
- Experience with physical or sensory impairments and how to best support those students in an educational setting.
- A strong desire to develop professionally and attend any necessary training to improve your skills in working with ALN students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
