2:1 Learning Support Assistant – SEND School, Southampton 
Full-Time | Term Time Only | Temp-to-Perm Opportunity

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you have experience supporting children with additional needs in an educational, care, or medical setting?

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a warm and welcoming SEND school in Southampton. This is a 2:1 support role, providing tailored, individualised care and educational support to two pupils with complex needs.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (in education, care, or healthcare settings)

  • A nurturing, patient, and resilient approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A commitment to supporting children’s wellbeing and development

  • Availability to work full-time, term time only

Role Details:

  • Supporting two pupils in a 2:1 capacity within a specialist school setting

  • Adapting learning resources and approaches to meet individual needs

  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff and therapists

  • Maintaining consistent routines and implementing positive behaviour strategies

Contract Type:

  • Initially employed through Teaching Personnel

  • Permanent school contract available following a successful probation period

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
