We are seeking a dedicated Youth Worker to join our team, working within a primary school in Bristol. This role offers a unique opportunity to support pupils, both 1:1 and in small groups, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Long-term opportunities are available for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils, including those with SEN, ensuring they are engaged in their learning.
- Assist in the delivery of tailored learning strategies and activities to meet individual needs.
- Support children in developing their social, emotional, and academic skills in a nurturing environment.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure pupils’ individual learning plans are being followed.
- Help manage classroom behavior and create a positive, inclusive environment for all students.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress to support ongoing development and achievement.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience working with children is essential (classroom experience is not required).
- Understanding of how to engage children in learning and offer support tailored to individual needs.
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting children with a range of needs, including SEN.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work well within a team and engage with children effectively.
- A proactive and flexible approach to working in a school setting.
- No specific classroom experience required – full support and training will be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
